IEF UNSUNG HEROES GIVEAWAY
Across Idemili North and South, there are ordinary people doing extraordinary things every day. They may not have wealth, influence or public recognition. In many cases, they have very little themselves. Yet they continue to give their time, limited resources, energy, comfort and opportunities for the benefit of others.
The IEF Unsung Heroes Giveaway was created to find these people, tell their stories and recognise the sacrifices they make for their communities.
At the Igboebisi Empowerment Foundation, we believe that the true measure of sacrifice is not simply how much a person gives, but how much that contribution means compared with what they have. A small act from someone with very little can represent an extraordinary sacrifice. We are therefore inviting people across Idemili North and South to nominate individuals within their communities whose actions demonstrate genuine service, integrity, selflessness and sacrifice.
These may be teachers who have gone beyond their responsibilities for their pupils, traders who have used their limited resources to support others, artisans who have quietly helped their communities, young people who have dedicated their time to solving local problems, community volunteers who continue to serve without recognition, or simply ordinary individuals who chose the interests of others when it would have been easier to choose themselves.
A total of ₦20 million has been set aside by the Igboebisi Empowerment Foundation to support as many genuinely deserving Unsung Heroes as the fund reasonably allows.
The number of nominations received will not determine who is selected. Political affiliation, religion, social status, traditional title or personal connections will have no bearing on the process.
What matters is the story.
What did they do?
What did they sacrifice?
Who benefited?
And can their story be independently verified?
Selected stories will also be documented and shared so that these individuals receive something that is often just as important as financial recognition — the knowledge that their contribution mattered and that their community noticed.

Ordinary People. Extraordinary Things.
Service Before Self.

ORDINARY PEOPLE, EXTRAORDINARY THINGS
Every community has people who give more than anyone sees. They sacrifice quietly, serve without applause, and keep showing up even when there is little in it for them.
This is your opportunity to shine a light on one of them.
If someone in your community has chosen service over self, courage over convenience, or sacrifice over personal gain, tell us their story. A simple nomination could ensure that years of quiet impact are finally seen, celebrated and remembered.
Because extraordinary change does not always begin with extraordinary people.
Sometimes, it begins with an ordinary person who simply decides to do more.
